An interesting discovery by Aj Collins on our forums today, he found that two of the largest retailers Amazon and GameStop are listing Grand Theft Auto IV under a new release date. Not just one release date though, two release dates. Both have a difference of 4 months, Amazon lists the game as being released on June 30, 2008 while GameSpot lists the game as expecting a March 3rd release next year. Which could be the real release date? Well nobody know the answer to that quiet yet, nor whether these dates have been given to the two retailers by Take-Two.

Which one do you think it could be? Possibly not even one of these two dates? GameStop's is sooner, but it's hard to say whether it would be the one to trust. Stay tuned for updates as they come to light.

In a press release by Take-Two Interactive today they announced that the most anticipated, Grand Theft Auto IV, will be delayed until the second quarter fiscal 2008, which means sometime between March and June next year. No official date has been given as of yet.

Take-Two is reducing its fiscal 2007 guidance primarily to reflect the movement of the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 to fiscal 2008, due to additional development time required to complete the title. The title is now planned for release in the Company's second quarter of fiscal 2008.

The delay is based entirely on technical challenges, and is not due to a specific console. Revenue should not be affected by the move in their opinion. The speculation to in the press about the delay being due to bad frame-rate is untrue, frame-rate in irrelevant to the delay. They believe they owe it to fans to insure the game is of the highest standard on both platforms, and insure us that it will not disappoint.

As for those with Xbox 360's awaiting the episodic content, they indicated that they will still go to plan and stated that 'no money will be given back to Microsoft' in relation to the content.

On another note, they also announced that Manhunt 2 will hit shelves this year if the appeal is successful and a Mature rating is given. Lets hope all goes well.

During a recent GTA IV preview, CVG managed to note some radio ads they heard while playing the game. Like usual, they’re great and just shows how GTA IV keeps intact the GTA comedy. Here are a few:

From the people who brought you the Domestobot, we proudly present El Comercio Roboto! It's the robot of the future... from south of the border!

'Politicians may demand illegal aliens leave the country, but I want a Mexican gardener I can ogle!'

El Comercio Roboto! He can mow the lawn, if you know what I mean! Comes with six different attachments!
It's a half robot, half radioactive plant destined to take over the world. Only one 15-year-old school girl can stop it... by sleeping with it [Japanese]. Princess Robot Bubblegum and the horny radioactive plant, in all good manga stores soon!
Simon and Nigel have long dominated the art world in Europe, and now there's an incredibly retrospective. Back in the 1970s they proved that owls were sexual, by having sex with them. Then in 1987 they went wild in America with their coffee table art book called The Anorexic Gimp in Wonderland. It's been none stop incongruity since!

Now these middle-aged twin transsexuals are photographing themselves re-enacting famous atrocities from history dressed as gorillas! Once you see Hitler portrayed as a gorilla, it'll explain the war in a way you never imagined. It is truly shocking!
Are you ready to live the real estate dream? Whether you're new on the market or an old hack we'll take your dream to the limits of prestige in a spacious loft or an outstanding penthouse! It's a 500-square ft glass-coated box in the sky! With windows that won't open and a doorman that masturbates in your bed while you're at work! Only three million dollars! Only three blocks from the ghetto! Apply now!
'What kind of loser journalist are you?!'

'You know, you make me shiver the way you look at me, like I shiver in the bath looking down at the urinal, and I say 'man that's a lot of men's hair', and then I say 'Maurice, you are a fat ball of testosterone - you are massive!'

'Eww!'

'Is it just me or is it just this angle?! What was she talking about? My little boy got the job done! But you know what? I'm drifting. The fact remains they are the same thing; for the working man, too much work. For the fat cat, and in your case a very thin and sexless, nicotine-stained cat, too many regulations. The working man wants spare time, spare money...'
Sometimes the family wants that Italian taste without those tiny Italian portions, that's why you should come to El Dentes - all the mama mia you can eat! It's Italian food like you'll never get in Italy. That's because it's an American theme restaurant! So the portions are huge, and the food tasteless and unhealthy. We've got a special linguini with Cheesy Poof sauce!
'Hey, when you're at El Dentes everyone's like family! A hyper, macho, food-obsessed, alcoholic family just like min!'
El Dentes - we've got more of what you love and less of what you don't. Like more calories and fat, and a lot less taste and nutrients! That's why it's El Dentes! All the mama mia you can eat!

Although these are just placeholder ads, it shows us what to expect. And by the looks of things, they're going to be great!

Thanks to CVG for the scope.

The downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV was announced over a year ago now, and up to this time PlayStation owners have been waiting for something to make their expensive investment worth it. Sadly it may seem that something is in fact nothing.

Rockstar Games spokesman, Hosi Simon, today announced that there will be no exclusive features for the PlayStation 3 to rival the Xbox 360's downloadable content. When asked during a recent interview he was asked if owning a PlayStation 3 would offer anything to rival the Xbox 360's features, he replied with "not that I can think of." He continued "They're identical games. We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want. But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose"

No information has been released yet as to what the Xbox 360 version's download content will contain, or as to what extent it will change your game play. But from his identifying the game as being identical on both systems, our bet is they will be an extra, not core to the completion of the game (so not story missions for example, possible multiplayer packs or side-mission add-on's).

Although I wouldn't be too worried just yet, it seems more like Mr. Simon himself wasn't very sure on what he was saying. Notice that he used "think", "guess" and "suppose" through-out the article, which leads us to believe there is something going on and they are keeping it quiet or nobody is really sure on what the status is just yet. We'll keep you up-to-date on how this all pans out.

Today Rockstar opened a teaser site for a radio station in Grand Theft Auto IV, WKTT, which stands for “We Know The Truth”. It's a talk back radio station similar to that of Vice City's K-Chat, San Andreas's WCTR and GTA III's Chatterbox FM.

The teaser website can be found at www.wkttradio.com, currently is has competition of sorts on. You can call up and have your opinions on “Liberty City, America, Liberals or your Health” broadcast live on air. This basically means, your opinion may be chosen and broadcasted on the WKTT radio station in Grand Theft Auto IV!

Head over to www.wkttradio.com now and have your opinion heard! Please be sure to read the Terms and Conditions first. Good luck everyone!

Today as we know Take-Two Interactive held their Conference at this year's E3. However it wasn't until the end of the conference that Rockstar Games appeared and showed off some new footage of Grand Theft Auto IV. The two trailers currently released of the game were also played, these were played prior to showing the new footage. The trailers were not at all edited nor changed.

Devin Winterbottom, who was managing the conference, said that Grand Theft Auto IV's code, music, voiceovers and other portions of the game are still being worked on and are not final.

The beginning scene gave us a view of Niko who was at “Star Junction” (Liberty City's version of New York's Times Square. The flashing news tickers on buildings, as well as other animations were stated as looking amazingly realistic. The following scene had Niko jacking a car (apparently a Bentley), eh then cruses a modern version of Liberty City. Niko soon then pulls up at a parking lot on the waterway near the Algonquin Bridge (Brooklyn Bridge). Niko then takes out his mobile phone and calls someone.

As Mr. Winterbottom stated voiceovers are not complete yet, so no dialogue was used during the phone call. We have only heard of one bug so far, where distant buildings popped up suddenly.

Thanks to GameDaily for their information on the conference, and GameSpot for the image of the photography warning.

Apparently the Sony Conference at E3 today revealed nothing about Grand Theft Auto IV, which is a shame. But don't fret, tomorrow is Take-Two's conference, which will hopefully hold some new information, maybe a demo or some new media even on Grand Theft Auto IV. Rumored is the possible showing of Manhunt 2, Red Dead Revolver 2, L.A. Noire and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Be sure to stay tuned for any updates here.

If you followed out list a few days back you may remember that today (Tuesday) is Microsoft's Conference at E3. Peter Moore who was conducting the conference didn't talk much on Grand Theft Auto IV, however he did mention the game and that Xbox 360 will be in facts receiving not one, but "two exclusive episodic content packs". As well as giving a date for their release, before Spring 2008.

The two IV trailers so far; that is "Things Will Be Different" and "Looking For That Someone Special" we're both being run “in real time” on an Xbox 360, which we am guessing means the scripted code used for the creation of the trailer was being executed on the game, if not then it was just the trailers being played through the media center. We will try to get clarification of this as soon as possible.

Already Grand Theft Auto IV news and the Take-Two conference is not until Thursday! We still have the Sony Conference tomorrow; we may very well see some new light shed either on the game or what the PlayStation 3 has to offer GTA fans.

Thanks to TheGTAPlace for the update.
