L.A. Noire official soundtracks announced

Published at 6:09 PM PST

Rockstar will be releasing an official soundtrack for L.A. Noire on the game's US release date, May 17 via iTunes. The soundtrack, recorded at Abbey Road by composer Andrew Hale, will feature ""modern takes on the classic torch songs of the period." The music itself is being produced and written by Stephen Coates with vocals by Claudia Brucken. Woody Jackson will also be contributing music to the soundtrack. In addition to the original soundtrack, Rockstar has partnered with Verve Records to produce a remix soundtrack featuring select songs from L.A. Noire's time period remixed by modern artists such as Ticklah, Midnight Sun, Maximum Balloon, DJ Premier, Truth & Soul and Moodymann. A track listing for the original soundtrack has yet to be released but Rockstar has revealed the tracks for the remix version.

1. Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan – Stone Cold Dead in the Market (Ticklah remix)
2. Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra – Hey-Ba-Ba-Re-Bop (Midnight Sun remix)
3. Dinah Washington – A Slick Chick (On the Mellow Side) (Maximum Balloon remix)
4. Louis Jordan – Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens (DJ Premier remix)
5. Gene Krupa – Sing Sing Sing (Truth & Soul Remix)
6. Billie Holiday – That Ol' Devil Called Love (Moodymann remix)

We've created a playlist in Grooveshark with the original versions of the songs above in the remix soundtrack.
