Rockstar has kept to their word. Back in late January Vice City was made available on PSN, and Rockstar signed off their release announcement with the promise of future announcements regarding more PS2 Classics heading to PSN soon. They've just announced that both Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories will be making their way to PSN this coming week, and the original Midnight Club, along with Midnight Club 2, are available right now.

All four PS2 Classics are available for US$9.99.
This announcement follows what we predicted in our previous article; both Midnight Club 1 & 2 had been re-rated for PlayStation 3 at the time of writing and were expected to be making their way to PSN in the very near future. Vice City Stories had also been re-rated, so it was obvious itself and Liberty City Stories would follow not to long after. Interestingly enough, LCS has not been re-rated according to the ESRB website at this time.
Rockstar once again signed off the announcement with a promise along the same lines as last time:
Stay tuned for word on more Rockstar titles coming soon to the PS2 Classics collection.
The PS2-era catalogue has been nearly exhausted. The only remaining PS2-era games not released on PSN thus far are the original Manhunt, Manhunt 2, Max Payne 2, The Warriors and State of Emergency. Fans have been vocal about their desire to see Max Payne 2 on PSN, alongside Max Payne 1 which was released on PSN last year, and I'd say it's a given that we'll see it next. The Warriors was a terrific game, one which would be great to play again on PSN, and I'm throwing my support behind it also. The Manhunt series could be more tricky, particularly in the UK and AU were the two remain banned - could certainly see it headed to the US PSN though if Rockstar feels that's adequate. State of Emergency seems a little left-field, and whilst I could see a PSN release being a new-beginning for it, I can't really see it being at the top of the list.
As always, I'll keep you updated on any news regarding future PSN releases.
Minor Update: According to AustralianGamer.com, the promo has also been announced for Australian customers, starting the same time as the UK's promo.
Starting June 9th in the UK and Australia, if you're over the age of 18 and purchase a new PSPgo, you'll be able to download ten free games from the PlayStation Store - one of which is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The promo, which was confirmed by Sony yesterday, will be available to those who have purchased (or will purchase) a PSPgo anytime after April 1st, 2010. The ten free games included are:
According to Sony, redeeming your free copies is simple. Once you've opened your new unit, just power it up and connect to the PlayStation Network, then launch the PlayStation Store and download the new PSPgo theme. When complete, you'll receive an email from Sony with a voucher code which can than be redeemed so you can start downloading your ten free games.
Definitely worth considering if you are looking to purchase Vice City Stories on PSP, or a new PSPgo handheld. Similar promo offers are expected for the United States and Canada in the coming weeks. We'll keep you posted.

As I was looking around on GameStop's website today, I came across two Grand Theft Auto bundle packs that have yet to be announced by Rockstar. One pack for the PC is exactly like the trilogy packs released for the PS2 and Xbox consoles. It includes GTAIII, Vice City and San Andreas. We're not sure at the moment if the games have been patched to correctly work on newer OSes. (Personally, I don't have a problem with the games on Vista but some have reported various problems) The other pack for the PlayStation 2 includes both Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. Both bundles will retail for $30. The PC pack releases on 30th of this month and the Stories pack releases on the 23rd.

EDIT: The US store was just updated and it doesn't seem to include the games.
