Back in late July we reported that the Episodes from Liberty City pack, which includes both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC's, would be release on October 29, 2009. At the time it was suspected that this was a global release date, however today I found this to not be the case.
In the latest catalogue for popular Australian Electronics Store, Dick Smith, the package is listed as being available from October 24th. This means both the package and The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC will be available in Australian 5 days prior to the US. I've included a scanned copy of the page from the catalogue below:
It's rare for Australia to receive anything earlier than the US or UK, so at the moment it is possible that this is simply a mistake on Dick Smith's part. There is however another possibility, perhaps the official release date has been changed? Unlikely, yes, but lets not rule that out just yet. But, if the catalogue is in fact correct, and The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC and Episodes pack are to be released earlier in Australia compared to the US, than it's definitely something Aussie gamers will be happy about.
We'll keep you posted of any changes in relation to this, check back soon!
EDIT: Rockstar has confirmed that the date printed is a mistake. The Episodes fom Liberty City pack will not be coming before October 29th.
Rockstar has just posted another video related to The Ballad of Gay Tony and Episodes from Liberty City on their website, you can catch the trailer below as well as the blurb included with the release:
In this Weazel news exclusive, Weazels crack team of investigative reporters and former lobbyists cut through the filter of the mainstream media to find the paranoia behind the truth to a recent string of attacks in Liberty City, which has forced the LCPD into an escalating arms race. Our Weazel News expert demonstrates these fearsome new weapons including sticky bombs, advanced sniper rifles, automatic shotguns and exploding bullets; while recently discovered footage from a Liberty City tourist appears to show a rocket-equipped military grade helicopter known only as The Buzzard wreaking havoc in Liberty City airspace.
