Rockstar has just confirmed to CVG.com that the upcoming Wii version of Table Tennis will not feature online play. The multiplayer mode was dropped from the Xbox 360 version so they could focus on the advanced control system, calling it the “most advanced control system on the Wii.”

“All the focus is going into making it the most advanced control system on the Wii.”

And if you have been reading previews fro this game on gaming websites ect, then you will know that it has supposedly really great controls, so no worry there! Let's hope that there will be at least offline multiplayer modes so you can play with friends, but this has not been confimed just yet [Although I reckon there will be!]

GameTrailers.com and IGN recently got a chance to play the Wii port of Rockstar Presents Table Tennis at Leipzig. IGN mentions that the learning curve was very short for both the basic control scheme and the "Control Freak" scheme. They also mention that the port feels like it's a completly new game. With a couple of more days till Leipzig ends, keep checking RockstarWatch for the latest.

In a recent article posted by Eurogamer we found out that Rockstar is only bringing two games to Leipzig, the games are Midnight Club (PS3, Xbox 360) and Table Tennis (Wii). Should we be upset that there's no GTA IV? No. Rockstar could be saving the big news for the Tokyo Game Show which is also happening very soon. Maybe that GTA IV advertisement was really an advertisement and not the start of a big wave of GTA IV news. Maybe we could hear more about their new franchise for the PS3 at the Tokyo Game Show. Rockstar could even surprise us with something completely different. We just don't know anymore.

But rest assured that RockstarWatch will be keeping you up to date with everything Rockstar related at Leipzig, which starts this Thursday!
