Rockstar has just updated the official Midnight Club LA website with the new second trailer that first premiered at Take-Two's E3 Press Conference. In addition to the trailer, the screenshots from the pre-views have now been posted on the site. According to the updated site, the official full website should be launched soon. Sadly, it seems the updated player Rockstar is using breaks viewing on Flash 10 beta. If you currently have Flash 10 installed, you may want to go back to version 9 or if you just want to watch the HD version of the trailer, just download it below.

Thanks to Adriaan for the heads up!
Take-Two has just announced that Midnight Club: Los Angeles will be pushed back again. On April 21st, Take-Two had announced that Midnight Club LA would be pushed back from it's early 2008 release date to September 9th. However, it seems Rockstar has changed it's mind again by pushing the date back even further to a October 9th release date for the US and October 10th for Europe. The reasoning behind this? Take-Two won't say. Hopefully, Rockstar won't decide to push back the release date for a third time.
Press Release: Rockstar Games announces new release date for Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Rockstar has just announced a PlayStation Portable version of Midnight Club: Los Angeles, titled Midnight Club: Los Angeles Remix, along with the release date for both remix and the console counterpart. What's really shocking is that Rockstar Leeds, the portable studio of Rockstar, is not making the PSP version of the game. Instead, Rockstar London, developer of Manhunt 2, will be developing the remix version. It's unknown at the time what will be cut (if anything) from the portable version of MC:LA. Here is the press release. We have put the important text in bold.
New York, NY – April 21, 2008 – Rockstar Games is proud to announce the fourth installment of its critically-acclaimed and genre-defining Midnight Club franchise, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, is set for release on September 9th in North America and September 12th in Europe. Developed by series creator Rockstar San Diego, Midnight Club: Los Angeles will give gamers the unprecedented freedom to race through a hyper-realistic LA.
"From the beginning, Midnight Club has been about street racing in a open-world," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "With our team at Rockstar San Diego we have developed a game that we feel once again pushes the boundaries and expectations of what a racing game can be."
Whether driving by the beach or beating the competition by cutting through a parking garage at 200 mph, Midnight Club: Los Angeles provides a seamless, breathtaking environment for everyone who loves to compete. With no load times, no tracks, and no rules, the game allows players to race who they want, when they want, and where they want in an unbelievable recreation of Los Angeles.
"People are going to be blown away when they see how true-to-life Los Angeles looks in this game," said Jay Panek, Midnight Club Producer Rockstar San Diego. "We've added some great twists and turns that let players experience the authentic vibe and feel of the city at blistering speeds that you simply couldn't get away with in real life."
A racing game is nothing without the great cars and Midnight Club: Los Angeles allows extensive customization of vehicles for both performance and appearance. Players can now fully personalize their officially licensed imports, tuners, classic muscle cars and motorcycles both inside and out with a dizzying array of licensed rims, spoilers, interior gauges, tires and more.
Also scheduled for release on September 9th, Midnight Club: LA Remix for the PSP® system will provide another incredible portable racing experience. Developed by Rockstar London, the game will take full advantage of the hardware to deliver the unrivaled sense of speed and style that the best-selling Midnight Club series is known for.

Along with the new announcements, 6 new screens of the console version have been released.
We can't wait for the 9th of September to get here!
YouTube has many, many, videos of Midnight Club LA, in fact it's interesting to note that the game has been receiving as much media attention as Grand Theft Auto IV. However as we all know we have seen no in-game video of GTA IV yet, interesting looking at the difference between the two.
Anyway, on with the news, psnathome.com (anyone ever heard of them? neither) have released some exclusive footage of Midnight Club LA which they apparently caught at a car show recently. The video is below, it includes a small race of just over a minute, shows off some of the city and how the cars handle. All in all, it's quiet fancy, check it out.
Animation software company Image Metrics today announced that there facial animation solution is being used by Rockstar in upcoming titles Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Grand Theft Auto IV.
The animation solution is a newly developed software that allows realistic facial movement on game characters faces without the need for markers or makeup. Basically, turning something that once took days, week and months to perfect into a 10 minute job. Below is a short demo reel by Image Metrics showing off it's possibilities:
Quietly, Rockstar has sent IGN the boxart for Midnight Club: Los Angeles. It's unknown if this is the final boxart but it sure looks nice none the less. Hopefully, we'll get high-res versions in the near future.
UPDATE: Rockstar have released news via their RSS Feed of the covers being announced, stating that they are the "official front of box art". The news article which consisted of just one image had high-res versions of the covers, which we cut into separate images and can now be seen by clicking the appropriate thumbnail to the right. Enjoy!
Also, StrategyInformer posted eight (8) new screenshots of MC4, you can find all of them below:
Does this game just keep looking better and better or what? We can't wait to see some gameplay, and cross fingers, a second trailer!
IGN recently got a chance to have a Q&A session with Jay Panek, a producer at Rockstar San Diego. He talks about the history and the future of the Midnight Club franchise and new stuff that is going to be included with the new installment, Los Angeles. Some of the new features Jay mentions are a race editor, dynamic weather, reputation points, and much more. He also points out improvements to current features as well like online for example. For anyone worried about load times, Midnight Club LA will feature only ONE load screen at the start of the game. Once that loading is done, that's it. No more loading. Even when switching game modes or starting a race. Certainly a big improvement over the last Midnight Club games. In addition to the new information is new screenshots. We must say that RAGE never looked so beautiful!
