Red Dead Redemption Leaks onto the Internet

Published at 8:07 PM PST

As is becoming a common trend these days, only four days before the games release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America, Red Dead Redemption has leaked onto the internet. At time of writing, only the Xbox 360 version has currently made its way onto peer-to-peer websites, and from what I've seen so far pirates have been downloading like crazy and duplicating links throughout the web. It is a real shame to see this kind of thing happen, especially after the effort put into the development of this game. Being the original teaser trailer was released in 2005 to select people at a Sony Press Conference, it is safe to say the game been in development for at least 5 years, that's quite impressive and even beats Grand Theft Auto IV's record of 4 years.

This is a public service announcement of sorts; if you are considering downloading the leaked copy of the game, please don't. Support Rockstar San Diego, they've put an immense amount of effort into developing this game, as has Rockstar in publishing it. The game is a mere four days from being released, the wait is nearly over. A real fan would not pirate.

I will be personally sending links I find to pirated copies of the game to Rockstar so they can have them taken down, I suggest other fans do the same.
