Brazil bans Bully after Scholarship Edition release

Published at 5:17 AM PST

Associated Press announced today that an Brazilian state has issued a ban on all sales of Bully. Judge Flavio Rabello has been the force behind the ban, ordering for sales to be stopped in Rio Grande do Sul, the most southerly part of the country in South American. His reasoning;

"The aggravating factor is that everything in [Bully] takes place inside a school."
"That is not acceptable."

The game is still being sold in some game distributors, as they say they were not aware of the ruling by the judge. However they won't be selling it much longer. Raise your hand if the constant banning of Rockstar's games over one or two persons personal opinions is getting a little, well, repetitive. I guess my question to Judge Rabello would have to be, why now? The PS2 version was never banned, however the Scholarship Edition has in some way angered him and led to a ban. What changed?

Rockstar have declined to comment on the banning at this stage, we'd expect a press release within the next week or two.
