Rockstar has just announced that the South Central update for Midnight Club: Los Angeles has been delayed a week. The new release date is March 19, 2009....just a few days after the release of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Rockstar has also released a new video for Midnight Club: Los Angeles featuring the Impala.
Rockstar has just updated the Midnight Club: Los Angeles website with the South Central section. The page doesn't feature really anything more than what we've reported the past few days. It does, however, include some new screenshots of two new cars featured in the DLC, a 1963 Buick Riviera and a 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG.
And incase you missed them, here are the details, screenshots and the trailer.

Sometime this week, Rockstar is to release a trailer and website section for the Midnight Club: Los Angeles's DLC. However, it seems Business Wire published the press release a bit to early. Today, Trading Markets posted the press release which reveals that the paid DLC pack "Premium Upgrade" will feature:
- Nine new vehicles:
Luxury: 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG "Black"
SUV: 2008 Range Rover Supercharged, 2008 Range Rover Sport Super Charged
Lowrider: 1955 Chevy Bel Air, 1963 Buick Riviera, 1964 Chevy Impala, 1965 Chevy Malibu
Muscle: 1970 Chevy Chevelle, 1966 Pontiac GTO - 26 new races
- 12 new battle maps
- 10 new delivery missions
- 100+ new red light races
- New rims
- New body kits for each new car
- New vinyl
- Hydraulics/Airbags unlocked on all new cars
- New music
The paid DLC, or Premium Upgrade as it's known, will cost you $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points, while you can still download the free version of the DLC which will extend the map, however won't give you any of the features listed above. Rockstar has stated that if you purchase the Free Upgrade, you will still be able to play against people with the Premium Upgrade.
Both the Premium and the Free versions of the Midnight Club: LA DLC will hit the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE on March 12th.
Update: Rockstar have now also posted news regarding the South Central upgrades, validating everything above mentioned in Trading Markets.

Rockstar has announced through their RSS Feed that next week the official websites for GTA: Chinatown Wars and Midnight Club: Los Angeles South Central DLC will be launched, along with debut trailers for each. No new release date has been set for the South Central DLC as of yet, you may remember that it was originally planned for release on January 29th, however for an unknown reason the plan wasn't put into action. We have been in contact with Rockstar, and they have assured us that once a date is set they'll let us know.
No word on when in the week to expect the launches of the websites and debut trailers, but we'll keep you posted.
This morning, Microsoft put a beta version of the Midnight Club: Los Angeles DLC onto the consumer Xbox Live service. However, the beta version of the DLC was met for the developer kit version of the Xbox Live service. People that have downloaded the DLC are advised to delete the DLC from their hard drive as trying to play with the DLC will result in your achievements not being registered and possible save game corruption could occur. According to CVG, the DLC is planned for release on January 29th.
