Late last month we reported that some news sources indicated that Rockstar quietly confirmed to them that Bully: Scholarship Edition was making the jump to PC at Leipzig. We thought it wouldn't take long until the big announcement by Take-Two in the form of a press release. Here we are now on the 18th day in September and still no press release about Bully: Scholarship Edition making the jump.

However, Rockstar has once again quietly confirmed the PC port again by updating the official website for Bully with the text "Coming October 21st to the PC". So if you were doubting the gaming news site, there you have it, October 21st release in North America, and a October 24th release in Europe.

IGN has quietly posted a small version of the cover for the PC version of Bully: Scholarship Edition. Nothing too interesting here, pretty much the same as the 360 and Wii version covers, however, there is text towards the bottom of the cover. The text reads "Contains Original Soundtrack", which was released on CD around the time of the original game.

The version of the cover IGN has is very small, however, we are currently working on getting a bigger version. Stay tuned.

It seems Bully is about to make the jump as well. Eurogamer is reporting that they seen a poster at Leipzig with the Bully logo and a nice piece of text that reads "Demnachst fur PC". In English? You guessed it, "Coming soon for PC". Now back when Grand Theft Auto IV for PC appeared on the ESRB site early, some people also reported seeing Microsoft Windows as one of the platforms for Bully. Rockstar has yet to comment on anything but it seems a pretty sure thing that Bully is coming to PC.

EDIT: The ESRB has just relisted Microsoft Windows under the platforms for Bully: Scholarship Edition. Perhaps an announcement really soon?

EDIT 2: According to IGN, the game will come out sometime in late October. Stay tuned for details.

This one almost slipped our radar. Rockstar Games is partnering with Bethesda Softworks to publish Bully in Japan. (Ironically, Bethesda Softworks worked with the now Rockstar New England to produce a Star Trek game) Despite Bully being also on the Wii system, the game will only be published for the Playstation 2 and the Xbox 360 consoles. Also, instead of the 360 version being called Bully: Scholarship Edition, it will simply be named Bully. It is unknown at the time if the Playstation 2 version in Japan will have the extra features from the "Scholarship Edition" because of them being called the same name. The game will be released on July 24, 2008. The Xbox 360 version will cost you somewhere around ¥ 7,140 and the Playstation 2 version will cost you around ¥ 5,040.

Microsoft has finally found the time to approve the long awaited patch for Bully: Scholarship Edition. The patch is now on Xbox Live. Just insert the disc and load the game. Your Xbox should give you a message that there is an update. Accept the message and wait for it to download. Once the game restarts, you should see "1.03" in the bottom right of your screen.

Microsoft seems to be slow these days. We just spoke to another Rockstar rep who has confirmed that they are still waiting for the OK from Xbox Operations. What is taking Microsoft so long? We're not exactly sure. Surely if they were trying to beat the game with the patch it shouldn't be taking this long. Keep reading RockstarWatch as we're following the release of the patch.

I just spoke to a Rockstar rep who has confirmed to me that the problems people have been having with Bully: Scholarship Edition have been identified and the work on the patch is finished. It's up to Microsoft now to approve the patch for mass download. Hopefully, Microsoft will approve it very soon. Keep checking RockstarWatch as we are constantly checking for the patch's release.

This is just a small updated on the Xbox 360 issues of the this-week released Bully: Scholarship Edition. Rockstar have officially stated that a fix will be available within the week and will be downloadable via Xbox Live, for free of course.

"We are very aware of the problems some people have been experiencing with the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition and have been doing everything within our powers to resolve these issues as quickly as possible," a Rockstar Games PR spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz.

"We will be releasing a title update through Xbox Live within the next week that we are confident will rectify the problem. We apologize wholeheartedly for the inconvenience that this matter has caused some owners of the game."

Thanks GameIndustry.biz.

Over the past few days, some gamers have been having minor issues with their copies of Bully: Scholarship Edition for the Xbox 360. One of the biggest issues is the game just locking up out of no-where. Today, Sam Houser himself responded to the news of the issues.

We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft. I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door - we never have and never will. We apologize to everyone affected for the inconvenience. Respectfully, Sam Houser

The statement is certainly believable as dev kits tend to have slightly different versions of firmware and hardware. Thank god this happened on a next-gen console as the game can just simply be updated via a downloadable patch. Keep reading RockstarWatch as we'll be keeping an eye out for the updates' release.

Remember the whole out cry back when the first Bully came out for the PS2 and watch-dog groups/main stream media were saying there would be a raise in violence among teenagers over the game? While it's been almost 2 years now and still no raise in violence, Rockstar has released Bully for two new platforms, the Xbox 360 and the Wii. Did the no raise in violence stop watch-dog groups and the main stream media from speaking out against the ports? Hell no. They still are going on a panty raid  have their panties in a twist over the game. What's even more intriguing is that according to globeandmail.com, Rockstar Vancouver also developed Grand Theft Auto AND Manhunt! This is certainly shocking news as Rockstar Vancouver didn't even EXIST when those two games were made!

The video game, which goes on sale Tuesday, is an updated version of the original game, Bully. Both titles were developed by Vancouver-based Rockstar Games, which is also responsible for the controversial Grand Theft Auto and Manhunt series.

A Rockstar spokes person responded to them saying

"As a matter of principle, we hope everyone starts off by saying, 'Okay, we know this is an entertainment experience,'" Rodney Walker said. "Video games are not just for children. This game happens to be about high school and it's a tough kid in a tough environment, but it's also one of the funniest games you will play. And if you don't have our sense of humour, we respect that, but we think that fans' voice has to be at least as important as the detractors."

The article goes onto say.

The game, which is rated Teen for players 13 and over, is being released for XBox 360 and Wii, which is a console that allows players to physically act out their characters' movements.

If this was true, we would be acting out a sigh just about right now.
