First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope everyone is relaxing, spending time with friends and family, and just enjoying themselves.
Now, if you didn't recieve exactly what you wanted for Christmas or we're lucky enough to recieve an iPhone or iPod touch, then be sure to grab Rockstar's Beaterator for iPhone and iPod touch from the Apple App Store as it's currently on sale for US$2.99...but only for a LIMITED TIME!
Be sure to grab it if you haven't yet. I've been addictided to it for the last 2 weeks, and I can honestly say it's well worth it, specially given the very cheap price.
Rockstar has finally released the iPhone and iPod touch version of Beaterator today. The best part about it? It will only set you back a cool $4.99! That's a steal for the amount of effort the folks over at Rockstar Leeds put into it, so be sure to grab yourself a copy as soon as you can.
Here is the list of Beaterator songs that are currently playable at Listen@Home for the month of October.
xxxAmorxxx - Q and A
SpartanX2X - Fooling
Sh4rky - Old Sch00l Beat
Buddemeyer72 - One Foot Forward
There were two other songs, however, we were unable to find them on Social Club at the time of this writing. They are as follows:
Benjamin Welby - Beat The Rator
Benjamin Holgate - Big Toe Bruiser
Rockstar, IGN and MySpace have teamed up to create the Beaterator Music Challenge. The challenge consists of bands or musicians submitting their best non-Beaterator work. Rockstar will then choose up to 100 bands/musicians and give them a PSP, a copy of Beaterator and instructions on how to use Beaterator. They then have 14 days to complete and submit a song created with Beaterator. The song can be a new song or a remix of an existing track. Community votes from MySpace and IGN will make up 25% of the votes and the rest will be by Rockstar, IGN and MySpace. The winner will receive $5,000 and their track will be featured on the PlayStation Network. All bands/musicians have until October 11th to sign up.

Beaterator is now available in stores in North America for the PlayStation Portable and via the PlayStation Network as a digital download. Be sure to pick up or download the game and give it a go, it certainly has shaped up to be a very interesting game, and one which we haven't seen from Rockstar Games before.
Also, in commemoration of the game being released today, Rockstar has released some Beaterator wallpapers, so check them out when you have the chance.
Rockstar has released the second video in a series of videos focusing on artists getting their hands on Beaterator for the first time and making beats. The video features artists Pete Rock, Twista and Buckshot as well as producers Marco Polo, Jay Electronica and Ski Beatz.
Rockstar has released the first video in a series of videos focusing on artists getting their hands on Beaterator for the first time and making beats. The video includes beats by Ice-T, Kevin Rudolf, Kate Voegele, DJ Clinton Sparks, Serani, and members of the band Aventura.
It seems as though every second day we're seeing some news or a video for Beaterator, the game which for over two years since it's original announcement was as quiet as a church mouse. Now there appears to be news floating around about it just about everywhere, even in the USA Today newspaper. Earlier this week USA Today had an exclusive interview with Timbaland to discuss the game:
"Beaterator isn't about pushing buttons A, B, A, B," says Timbaland, "It teaches how music is made and lets you be the person making the music. Young songwriters and producers, or those who just want to experiment, have never had such a deep tool to make music while on the go."
He also discussed Rockstar, and briefly described what it was like working for them...
"When Rockstar approached me to work with them on Beaterator, they warned me it'll take a couple of years to do this right," recalls Timbaland, "They weren't kidding. I can't tell you how many times I went into the studio to record new sounds, so I hope my fans will appreciate all the work."
Seems that certainly a large amount of work has been put into the game by Timbaland, and I for one have to say I am impressed. It's always terrific seeing the mainstream superstars we know and love working on the games we're anticipating, it's one of the things that has made the voice acting in the Grand Theft Auto game's so spectacular.
The game is shaping up to become rather popular, and we're all interested in seeing what else Rockstar has in store for us over the coming weeks. We'll keep you posted as always!
