Geoff Keighley had the chance to sit down with Jack Tretton, president of SCEA, at E3. One of the questions that was asked was whether Agent was still in the works and if it was still exclusive. While Tretton didn't flat out say the title is no longer exclusive to the PlayStation 3, he did hint at it while trying to dance around the question adding "we'll be very pleased with the PS3 offering".

JT: It's probably a better question for the Rockstar guys but Agent is in development. We still have every intention of working together.

GK: Still exclusive to PS3 though?

JT: I'm not sure where we're going to end up on that. Again, that's probably a better question for Rockstar but I think we'll be very pleased with the PS3 offering when it comes to market.

Take-Two has announced their results for the three and twelve months ended October 31, 2010. The main take away from the results is the fact that Take-Two was able to achieve profitability in a year without a major new Grand Theft Auto release. This is mainly thanks to new releases such as Red Dead Redemption, Mafia 2, Bioshock 2, Civilization V, Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete, New Carnival Games and their respective DLCs. One other thing the results include is the future lineup of games from Take-Two.

Notice that Max Payne 3 and Agent are missing? When questioned about it, Strauss Zelnick responded that they don't comment on unreleased titles. Could it be an error? Could it be Max Pane 3 and Agent have been delayed beyond 2012 or is it just they don't have a solid time-frame for release? Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

EDIT: Rockstar has given the following statement to Kotaku regarding Max Payne 3:

We're still working hard on Max, and we'll have more news in the coming months.

Superannuation is reporting some interesting finds from two different resumes. The first find is from a former 3D artist. The game was originally created by Rockstar San Diego and set in Cairo, Egypt.

Environment artist on Agent. Created city structures, textures, and props. as also chosen to join a small team of artists for overseas photo shoot to gather reference in Cairo, Egypt. This small team of 4 gathered over 10,000 photographs of the city of Cairo within five days.

The second find is from another former 3D artist. The game was originally targeted for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

Rockstar San Diego
Upcoming Playstation 2 / Xbox title "Agent".

What is interesting is that the second 3D artist only worked at Rockstar San Diego from August 2003 to July 2004. That means that Agent was originally started somewhere in-between those dates.

Take-Two today held a conference call today to give people an update on the financial status of the company. CEO Ben Feder stated that Beaterator will be coming towards the end of this year. Also, in-spite of all the analysts claiming that there will be another big Grand Theft Auto next year, Feder also put those rumors to rest stating that there will not be a multiplatform Grand Theft Auto next year. Something interesting though is that Agent was not mentioned in the line up for next year. So either Agent will not be coming next year or Take-Two doesn't want to get people's hopes up. They also reconfirmed that Chinatown Wars will be coming in Q4 of this year which puts the release date sometime between July 1, 2009 through September 30, 2009.
