Apparently the Sony Conference at E3 today revealed nothing about Grand Theft Auto IV, which is a shame. But don't fret, tomorrow is Take-Two's conference, which will hopefully hold some new information, maybe a demo or some new media even on Grand Theft Auto IV. Rumored is the possible showing of Manhunt 2, Red Dead Revolver 2, L.A. Noire and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Be sure to stay tuned for any updates here.
If you followed out list a few days back you may remember that today (Tuesday) is Microsoft's Conference at E3. Peter Moore who was conducting the conference didn't talk much on Grand Theft Auto IV, however he did mention the game and that Xbox 360 will be in facts receiving not one, but "two exclusive episodic content packs". As well as giving a date for their release, before Spring 2008.
The two IV trailers so far; that is "Things Will Be Different" and "Looking For That Someone Special" we're both being run “in real time” on an Xbox 360, which we am guessing means the scripted code used for the creation of the trailer was being executed on the game, if not then it was just the trailers being played through the media center. We will try to get clarification of this as soon as possible.
Already Grand Theft Auto IV news and the Take-Two conference is not until Thursday! We still have the Sony Conference tomorrow; we may very well see some new light shed either on the game or what the PlayStation 3 has to offer GTA fans.
Thanks to TheGTAPlace for the update.
Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer #2 has just been released by Rockstar Games, the servers at Rockstar Games have become slow as over 3 million eager fans attempt to view the second trailer for the most anticipated game of 2007. RockstarWatch has been lucky enough to access the trailer and upload it to YouTube for quick viewing, it can be found here or scroll down. This new article will be update soon with an overview of the new trailer as well as download links for the trailer.
Have an Xbox 360? If you do, Rockstar has added a Grand Theft Auto IV theme and Gamer Pictures to Xbox Marketplace! The best part is, they are both free! Head on over to the the marketplace blade and choose Games and then New Releases. Once there, choose Grand Theft Auto IV. Then you should see the downloads! Here is a preview of the theme! (Thanks goes to Major Nelson for the theme pictures)
When GTA IV hits the internet tomorrow, it won't just be landing on that platform, but also the Xbox Live Marketplace too! It will be made downloadable at 6:00 PM BST and will come along with some new GTA IV gamerpics and a new theme. Brilliant!
Want to know why Sony's machine isn't receiving GTA IV downloadable content? Because Microsoft paid a whopping $50 Million for the exclusive episodes, thats why.
Stock analysis website SeekingAlpha have referenced last weeks press release from Take-Two regarding it's financial results and a conference call in relation to that, where it is revealed that the $50 million “Deferred revenue” figure is actually coming from Microsoft, who will pay Take-Two $25 million for one downloadable episode in March '08 and the other $25 million later on in fiscal '08 for the second episode. We can assume from this that these are likely to be the dates when we will actually receive the content, although it's not certain.
Bad news for Sony fans...
The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV will be released June 28, only about 17 days from now. The splash page was updated today with a count down, be sure to check it out at http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/. The tag line is interesting. "LOOKING FOR THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE" in the same red text used for the countdown for the first trailer. What could this mean; possible introduction of girlfriend maybe? Introduction of Roman, of maybe the long awaited multiplayer? We'll have to wait and see.
